VF Corporation | Denver, CO

Senior UX Manager (Mobile Apps & Web)

2020 - 2024

During my 4 years at VF Corporation, I managed multiple design teams and digital products, spanning 12 employees, 7 brands. 2 loyalty/commerce apps, and 4 retail websites. While I started at the company as a Principal Designer, my focus became the delivery and management of native mobile applications for The North Face and Vans, as well as multiple websites for brands like Smartwool, Dickies, and Altra.

I was recruited into the company to start and grow a mobile UX program but quickly picked up additional responsibilities as my capacity to not only design and manage grew, but also my ability to strategize and identify cross-platform efficiencies. My largest initiative at the company was creating a white-label mobile design system that worked across brands as new product needs were identified.

My primary responsibilities included:

  • employee management

  • digital strategy

  • product design

  • technical writing

  • accessibility governance

  • requirements gathering

  • facilitating workshop

  • app store optimization

  • roadmap planning & feature prioritization

  • user research & testing

  • design system governance

  • development handoff

  • partnering with product owners, technical teams, brands, vendors, and business leaders

Both platforms (mobile and web) required the understanding of omni-channel reliances, individual brand needs and application of style guides, and a white-label approach to creating scalable and accessible solutions across products.

In my time at the company, I aided in growing our mobile app revenue from $4M to $28M annually; this number continues to remain on the rise. Our app store ratings continued to improve across all applications as well.

Davita | Denver, CO

Senior UI/UX Designer (Mobile & Web Apps)

2016 - 2020

I was fortunate to work at Davita during a critical initiative to transform paper documentation to digital, as a design lead on a mobile EMR. The goal of the product was to enable medical professionals to be fully mobile, utilizing iPads for all of their charting and documentation. The 4-year initiative included the removal of any reliance on physical paper and analog processes, the addition of offline capabilities, and the cross-channel communication needed for multiple digital platforms to work quickly and efficiently while treating dialysis patients at hospitals in real-time.

My primary responsibilities included:

  • UI/UX design

  • wireframing

  • technical writing

  • accessibility governance

  • user research & testing

  • creating design system elements

  • development handoff

Pearson Education | Denver, CO

UI/UX Designer (Mobile & Web Apps)

2014 - 2016

I was hired at Pearson with a team of UX designers and researchers to help create a series of e-learning tools in the education space. While my primary focus was around a suite of mobile applications, I also worked to improve the user experience of multiple education higher-education platforms with a mobile-first lens. The goal of these products was to enable students to learn on-the-go, with their mobile phone as the conduit to learning everywhere. There were cross-channel needs as the technology suite from Pearson was accessible across all device types, including desktop.

While most of my responsibilities included visual design, I was also involved in the user experience process of creating wireframes, conducting field research, and applying user testing results to design iterations. I lead design presentations as well as guided development teams on the implementation of those designs. My most significant projects included defining a digital design language, as well as designing native mobile applications and web experiences for students.

My primary responsibilities included:

  • UI/UX design

  • wireframing

  • branding

  • mobile app design

  • app icon design

  • art direction

  • workshop facilitation

  • user research

  • guerrilla usability testing

  • creating design system elements
